1. Galileo Galilei (1564 - 1642) was an Italian philosopher and physicist, who built off the Copernicus' ideas of a sun centered universe.

2. Galileo believed that the sun was the center of the universe not there earth, by proving that Jupiter's moons orbit jupiter not the earth.

3. If we were to go to a church or a large cathedral we would see that it is supported by arches, which would be an offshoot of Galilee's parabola theory.

4. If were to consider the Church a father or authority of the time, then we can consider Galileo the disobedient child who is punished for opposing its power, by stating that the sun was the center of the universe.
